Blackburn striker Diouf involved in a new ‘punching’ controversy
London, Sep 27(ANI): Blackburn striker El Hadji Diouf has been involved in a new controversy following a dressing room punch-up with his team-mate Ryan Nelsen.
Diouf, who was earlier accused of racially abusing a Goodison Park ballboy, reportedly punched Nelsen after last Sunday’s 3-0 defeat against Everton.
It is believed that Nelsen was furious with Diouf’s performance in the Everton match and had accused Diouf of being “not interested” and “lazy.” The pair also traded verbal insults before punching each other as stunned team-mates tried to separate the warring pair.
“Ryan was absolutely furious with Diouf and accused him of being selfish and not working for the team. Diouf reacted by throwing himself at him and was throwing punches like a windmill,” News of the World quoted a Rovers source, as saying.
“Ryan acted to defend himself, but the rest of the players jumped in to separate them. It turned really nasty for moment,” the source added. (ANI)
