Chandigarh, Feb.22 (ANI): Being more fashion consciousness is something that comes naturally to girls in Chandigarh, as most of them are drawn to the latest in fashion accessories to improve their charm quotient.
In this context, an exhibition of artificial fashion accessories was held in Chandigarh recently.
Yukti Shankar, one of the organizers of the exhibition, said designer handbags were a major attraction for girls.
“The market in North India has a very high potential. Due to a plethora of festivals, people have taken a liking for shopping and exhibitions. Even on day-to-day basis, we see a lot of women shopping. In the West (i.e. Mumbai), most people are leading a fast-paced life and they don’t have time to shop. But here in the North, every occasion is celebration time,” claimed Shankar.
The major attractions of the exhibition included various artificial and eye-catching jewellery from Turkey, key-rings, baby-bracelets, designer bags, clothes, mobile accessories and many sophisticated interior decorative items for homes and cars. he models were themselves flattered by the huge variety of artificial jewellery showcased at the exhibition.
“Fashion changes within a short time, so if we are using these kinds of jewellery that looks different in design and presentation from gold and diamonds, I am sure youngsters would like these to take them to parties,” said Aditi Sharma, a model.
Visitors to the exhibition admired the eye-catching jewellery.
“We, generally, keep expensive jewellery in the locker and take it out whenever it is needed. The artificial jewellery here is very nice and we can keep them at home without fear,” said Akanksha Deepak, one of the visitors. (ANI)
