Have Kalmadi and Hooper finally joined hands?

London, Oct 30 (ANI): The 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games organiser and its parent body the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), have decided to work together for the success of the Delhi 2010 XIX Commonwealth Games, it seems.

Speaking exclusively to ANI after the Queen’s Baton Relay in London, Union Sports Minister M S Gill said: “There is a crisis, but business will be sorted out soon.”

The Chairman of the Commonwealth Organising Committee, Suresh Kalmadi, also looked relaxed and optimistic.
Speaking to ANI, Kalmadi said: “Delhi is ready for the games, and it’s going to be the best games ever”.
Indeed Kalmadi and his team seemed to be geared up for the mega-sporting event.

From playing grounds to accommodation, anything that requires in hosting, will be ready on time, said Gill and Kalmadi.
“We want good games delivered on time”, said Gill.
The Commonwealth Games Federation and the Commonwelath Games 2010 Organising Committee were earlier engaged in a tussle over the committee rejecting the Commonwealth Games Federation’s proposal to set up an independent monitoring committee to oversee the preparations of the Delhi Games and also over a demand that Mike Hooper, chief executive officer of the event, be sacked on grounds of incompetence and delaying tactics.
But, after the relay, it seems Kalmadi and his team are keen to forget the past and play the gentleman’s game. By Ravi Khandelwal (ANI)
