New Delhi Dec 28 (ANI) : Union Sports Minister M S Gill on Monday termed the Ferozeshah Kotla pitch fiasco as a great embarrassment and said the Cricket Board and the DDCA owe an explanation to the country.
Gill’s comment came a day after the a match between Indian and Sri Lanka was abandoned due to a dangerous track.
Speaking to the media, Gill said : “It is very unfortunate and a great embarrassment for the country. It should not have happened. I watched the match a bit on TV and it was terrible to see such an incident taking place.”
“What I can say. All those who are in-charge of cricket nationally and state-wise can only answer on the issue,” he added.
On Sunday, to the embarrassment of DDCA and the entire nation, the game at the Kotla stadium was called off when the Sri Lankan innings was into its 24th over after Thilina Kandamby complained to on field umpires about the dangerous bounce.

Mr. Gill is absolutely right. This is really a very shame for the capital of India that the authorities cannot even prepare a safe pitch for the match pre decided.
The Indian cricket team have how ever earn a top ranking spot in Test cricket series but the authorities of India are always on the top ranking in carelessness and shameful activities.
People learn from their mistakes but our countries authorities have vowed never to learn from them but to keep continuing them.
