Liverpool boss Rafa says Torres too priceless to be put up for sale
London, Sep.29 (ANI): Liverpool FC manager Rafa Benitez has said no amount of money could tempt him into selling star striker Fernando Torres.
Describing Torres as a priceless possession ahead of the club’s match against the Italian club Fiorentina, The Daily Express quoted Rafa, as saying: “I’m not saying he’s the best in the world because he is young and can get better, but of course he is one of the best.”
“This year we had some agents acting for other English clubs who were coming to us asking about the price of Torres, with big, big figures. But we said that he is not for sale,” he added.
Torres struck a hattrick in the 6-1 demolition of Hull City on Saturday and will lead Liverpool’s attack in the Champions League against Fiorentina tomorrow.
Spaniard Torres has already plundered eight Premier League goals this term to top the scoring charts and his talents are once again the envy of clubs around the world.
Benitez has admitted Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United all enquired about Torres during the summer, but insists there is not a bid that would persuade him to cash in.
Benitez added: “I would say at this moment in time he is not for sale at any price. (ANI)
