CARE Hospital plans Rs 200 crore expansion

As part of its expansion plans, Care Hospitals will invest Rs 200 crore during the next one year.

Addressing a press conference here today, Care Hospitals Chairman B Soma Raju said of the total fund of Rs 200 crore required, Rs 50 crore would be raised through debts, Rs 90 crore through equity and the remaining through internal accruals.

The hospital was planning to set up new centres all over India and increase its bed capacity to 2000 by the year 2008 and add another 3000 by the end of 2010, he added.

Stating that the two new 100-bed hospitals in Bhubaneswar (Orissa) and Surat (Gujarat) would be commissioned in July and September respectively, Mr Raju said the total bed capacity of the Care Hospitals would be increased from present 1150 to 1350 by the end of this year.

The hospital's total turnover was Rs 180 crore.

Mr Raju said the hospital was planning to set up a 'Medical School' here to provide quality medical education.
