Rawalpindi, Dec.4 (ANI): Several persons were reportedly injured in a suicide attack in a mosque in Rawalpindi on Friday.

According to reports, the blast occurred in the Parade Lanes mosque situated near the city's Chohar Chowk.

Gunshots were also heard before the blast, The News reports.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and all the wounded persons have been admitted to the CMH hospital.

Television reports said that there were more than a dozen blast near the mosque, which was crowded with people offering Friday prayers. However, no official confirmation were available till the reports last filtered in.

Unconfirmed reports said gun battle between the security officials and some of the attackers were still going on. (ANI)
