Star Wars theme named Best Science Fiction Film Soundtrack of All Time
London, Sept 25 (ANI): The theme from Star Wars has been voted as the best science fiction film soundtrack of all time in a new poll.
The original score from 1977 Star Wars film was composed by John Williams.
He has won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA Award and a Grammy Award for his work in all six Star Wars movies between 1977 and 2005.
The soundtrack from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, composed by James Horner, came second, followed by Vangelis' haunting electro soundtrack for Blade Runner at the third place.
The track from Star Trek the Motion Picture created by Jerry Goldsmith and Flash Gordan by Queen wrapped up the top five.
"With his score for Star Wars, John Williams created one of the most iconic and unforgettable soundtracks of all time," the Telegraph quoted Matt McAllister, editor of Totalscifionline, the website that conducted the survey as saying.
"Most people could identify the movie from just a few bars of the main title music and Williams' work across all of the Star Wars movies really does create a palpable sense of intergalactic space battles and galaxy-spanning adventures.
