Tibetan Prime Minister in exile attends 'Education for Peace' seminar in Himachal Pradesh

Rait village (Himachal Pradesh), Jan 4 (ANI): Tibetan Prime Minister in exile Samdhong Rinpoche attended a peace ceremony in Rait village of Himachal Pradesh.

The daylong seminar named "Education for Peace', organised by the local Dronacharaya College witnessed the participation of trainee teachers from various parts of the country.

Rinpoche, who was the chief guest, hailed the theme of the seminar.

"Today the greatest challenge to the world is violence and destruction and the teaching community need to prepare the coming generation who can work for peace and stability," said Rinpoche.

"This seminar, I think is beneficial for requirement of the times and the participants are good scholars, and I am very much impressed by their participation," he added.

The orgainsers said the main aim of conduction the seminar was to train teachers, so that they educate the people on peace.

"The seminar, basically we have planned because there is a lot of problems in the country and it was thought probably the teachers or specially the trainee teachers will be the best people to educate people on the process of peace," said Y. D. Singh, the organiser and director of Dronacharaya College.

The seminar also aims at training teachers, so that they understand the problems faced by students and help them to tackle those problems in an efficient manner. (ANI)
